The Sunrisers Hyderabad’s IPL matches in city may be shifted to Raipur, according to sources in Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday. This may not be the first time the IPL matches had to move out of Hyderabad. In 2010, owing to the Telangana movement, the matches were shifted to Mumbai and Nagpur.

Over 120 employees, including groundsmen, have been on strike since the first week of March for non-payment of salaries since two months. The cash-strapped HCA has been pleading with BCCI for release of funds, but in vain so far. John Manoj, secretary of HCA said he had been writing letters to BCCI but he has got no reply

IPL opening ceremony scheduled on April 5, the city was to host eight matches, including the final on May 21.
